IMPORTANT: A former colleague who has tracked the police for years sent this apt and very well written note on the July 20 violence . Pl read it carefully one and all (especially some of our top cops who still retain a commitment and integrity to the uniform)
Read here:
Full sympathies with families and children of cops as no one should be made to see the suffering of their loved ones. But this isn’t an argument about whether the protesters did this or not. The idea of parading the families of injured Delhi Police officers is a dishonourable attempt to create an emotional counter-narrative and is more aimed at deflecting systemic accountability for use of force by the state and hence shifts the focus from institutional actions to individual suffering.
Comparing state-backed police force's injuries with injured students ends up creating a false moral equivalence, because the police hold state authority and crowd-control tools. Remember, violence is always a state monopoly in legal terms. Their attempts distract everyone from the core issue - of police misconduct and disproportionate use of force. In this battle of my emotion versus your emotion, the larger picture should never be lost in any civilised society.🙏
@AdityaRajKaul The sad part is you say this is dealt with maturity when it is spoken by politician of one party. The same had it been from other party, you would say their house is also not in orders they should know they are cheating their own future generation. narrative is everything.
@amitmalviya@abhijeetpushkar What a shame @JPNadda gave him time to meet, negotiated with him, and ultimately agreed to his demands also. Imagine if with these victories he would have claimed victory for AAP what would have happened. But he didn’t. That kind of politics who does best do you know ? Teach him
@sardesairajdeep@AshutoshRanka What an amazing interview. Amidst all the chaos and protest, missed listening to such sane voice with utmost clarity of thoughts. Keep it up.
@svembu This coming after the protest means it is hurting you. Just so that you know most of the kids are 18-25 years who are protesting. Imagine they choosing to stop using your products, you denied using products made by them.
@ANI And you dont think that a political party can't mobilise such resources, make them infiltrate into protestors and do these things at cue to give protest a bad name. Much like truck full of stones, broken car, police without badges etc. Wonderful Job.
Dear @CPMumbaiPolice@MumbaiPolice
This officer is blatantly threatening kids to implicate them in a false drug case.
For what? Because they were walking out to protest, as is their constitutional right?
It’s on video
There’s nothing to discuss
This is a disgrace!
He needs to be summarily fired from the force.
Mumbai Police was, in my youth, famously compared to Scotland Yard.
My grand uncle Shri M.S. Kasbekar once served as Mumbai’s Commissioner
My wife’s uncle, Shri K.P. Medhekar served as well as the Commissioner and the first DGP of Maharashtra
It is a matter of personal and family pride to have these fine decorated officers in our ancestry.
Pls weed out these officers that stain the honour and pride of this fine force.
@sardesairajdeep@IndiaToday If people have not booed at you, shouted Godi Media when you are there holding the mike of same co. other reporters were shown frustration at, thats the respect you have earned & for those who dont understand this, thats the difference GenZ knows. So dont judge them.
@Saurabh_MLAgk Try exploring this angle - Congress didn't want to raise in Parliament, wait for protest to play out, not let other parties dilute what they were about to do in evening to become poster boy of opposition protest against govt. Thats real expose. This is just stating facts as heard
@free_thinker How does @ShekharGupta define journalism, that would be interesting. Those who are having the identiy card of journalism but inciting people, using abusive language, being partisan, do they qualify to be called journalist? Come on Shekhar. You were intelligent & mature once.
@chitraaum Which journalist you are talking about that he is referring to? It will be interesting to find out who hasn't sold his soul and is being targeted by Ravish.
@svembu And when election mandate is stolen? When elected representatives are made to shift parties, that is mockery of election. Any insights? Don't tell me constitution allows it so whats the problem? Constitution allows protest also. In either case, you will have to eat your words.
@smitaprakash She and her husband wrote a letter which I think you chose to not hear. The way you are questioning her, who are "you" with gets clearly exposed. "We" would mean every single person who was there at the place where everyone protesting was there. You won't understand "courage".
@nishikant_dubey@RahulGandhi@INCIndia Had the government listened and ensured a dialogue, many might not have got injured yesterday. It is still sad that your son reached examination centre late. May be now you can spare a thought for those whose examination paper got leaked, and so many who took their lives.
@AtishiAAP Thats quite shameful. This is as political opportunism as it can get. You would do better being quite and do your stuff what you can think of or do. Coming from a party like AAP to say anything against anyone supporting what the youth is doing is stupidity.
@bhupendrachaube@RahulGandhi@CJP_2029@narendramodi How cute of you to say someone who takes all the decisions for everyone else also is suddenly being wrongly advised and he is listening to others and deciding. Kuch toh sharam kar lo dost.
