@uncledoomer Look, these films should be enjoyed for what they are and their strengths (cinematography and Action), but lets not pretend that the script writing had any more depth than a half rolled tube of toothpaste. Some of the most cringey and poor romantic dialogue and progression.
@CrabSully94@TomGranzzz@yougonfinna@brilliantdog5 Braindead take and association. You are the one who made their ethnicity the relevant fact. By your own logic and standard, you are the one being antisemitic.
@PrometheusVoid "what else would it be" is very shallow. This absolutist remark/take can be perceived as the only thing you cared to take from the films. If not, perhaps better wording would be warranted because its implied that these themes are all that interested you or caught your attention.
@TommyMMcNulty@A24 I dont blame you as I too, was concerned with supporting something dishonest and vile. The film has just enough truth to keep it from being fiction and had just enough dramatization to keep it from being taken seriously. Ultimately it is a work for purely entertainment purposes.
@TommyMMcNulty@A24 In this case, using horror aspects of cinema in a film like this is tone deaf as fuck and a terrible choice due to the nature of what is being done in the show. In a world of clipbaiting, the director is an idiot.
@TommyMMcNulty@A24 I agree, a legitimate film with an accurate portrayal of what the show was about with input from the main person running the operation would have been more interesting and faithful to the project. However sensationalism and controversy sells tickets. Welcome to modern cinema.
@Kristen29333063@A24@chrishansen There are 2 scenes with hyperexaggerated cinematography and horror music that when taken out of context can seem like what you are suggesting. The film itself in its entirety is not that.
@Kristen29333063@A24@chrishansen Its not; if you havent seen it, which by your post I assume you havent, pirate the movie if its something you are concerned about supporting. I was apprehensive as well but after seeing it, to call the movie a hit piece on Hansen is simply dishonest.
@jeremi_isaac@A24 To say the entire film is a hit piece on Hansen is dishonest and shows you probably didn't watch the film. At no point does the movie ask you to sympathize with predators.
@jeremi_isaac@A24 If you watched the movie you would realize that youre only regurgitating what other people say on the internet. There are 2 bad scenes in the film that overexaggerate with cinematography and music. Unfortunately these 2 bad scenes are all thats needed to discredit the entire film
@WeimarWorlds@ratsquisher@Plumpula That scene is piss poor, and so is the scene where he walks up to the decoy in the van and they start playing horror music. Poor choices that are overly exaggerated and allow for narratives like this to run amok.
@WeimarWorlds@ratsquisher@Plumpula Lol, I watched the movie myself and while I agre, there are 2 scenes in the movie that use overly exaggerated cinematography and lighting such as the scene shown here, It is ridiculous to say that the entire film is a dedicated hit piece/try to make you sympathize with predators
