@SubBrief Not exactly true. The Ticos have been rode hard & put up wet for decades, they're simply worn out.The Navy screwed up their replacements, the Zumwalts. The LCSs are s sh*t show but we don't have anything to replace them yet. Shut down the production line & you lose that capability.
@Geraldneedspant@shannonrwatts What information are you referring to? That silencers aren’t silent? Personal experience and familiarity with their specs(easily researched).
@Geraldneedspant@shannonrwatts Both and of course the shooter as well. The real question is why is such a device regulated in the first place? The commonly held belief that they are silent is simply false. The same for believing they lead to higher crime rates.
@Geraldneedspant@shannonrwatts So neighbors should have to wear hearing protection? Ever been to an outdoor shooting range? It can be a pretty loud place.
@EdMorrissey@cdrsalamander Why should speed of results be the top priority? Several states allow mail in voting where the postmark can be Election Day. Others don’t allow the early counting of mail in votes. That last one should be changed.
@Bleentastic@PopulismUpdates Liberals aren’t a majority in this country. If you want to be a majority party, you have to appeal to moderate and independent voters.
@BillKristol It doesn’t feel that way. Unfortunately, I think the Republicans are going to win many if not most of the close races. They’ll likely take the Senate as well as the House.
@SSgtKotyk@vodk_anon A fight with China in the near future is looking more likely. The only ships that can help us are the ships already in service or those that can be added to the fleet quickly. Though not ideal, Zumwalts and LCSs exist.
@GabrielSterling@prchovanec@jaysbookman A big part of what she objected to was Kemp overseeing the very election he was running in. As well, Kemp oversaw the purging of GA voter rolls. Voting is a right. Use it or lose it voting laws should be unconstitutional.
@GabrielSterling@stphnfwlr Can we work on updating GA’s runoff requirements? Let’s drop the requirement from 50% + 1 to 45% + 1. That will still mean a candidate has substantial support & avoid having every close race result in a runoff. Runoffs result in a very small % of the electorate deciding who wins.
