Reset a HomeKit accessory lately and then spent 15 minutes looking for the setup code on the box it came in?
PairVault stores every HomeKit and Matter setup code in one place. Scan the QR once, re-pair forever. No account, no server, no tracking. Everything stored securely in your iCloud.

@Motorsport Based on this weekend, absolutely not. Never. If they can sort the logistics out, water, food, transport, etc then sure. But this weekend was an extremely bad look on both Bahrain (no surprise there) and Malaysia.

What's the smallest AI-assisted change that had an outsized effect on your workflow?
Mine was letting an in-editor model write my commit messages. Saved maybe 90 seconds a day — adds up to hours a month I never noticed leaving.

What's a package you installed for one function and then never removed, even after you stopped needing it?
Mine's been sitting in package.json for four months. Too scared to remove it and find out something depends on it silently.

Satisfies instead of a type annotation.Annotating is what widens the literals and kills the inference. And when one key depends on another, I stop using a plain object and pass it through a generic identity function, so the signature can say "this key must be a key of that one." Computed unions get derived with a mapped type off the same object.
How I keep component props typed without duplicating the type in three places: infer everything from a single source-of-truth config object, then derive prop types with typeof and keyof off it.
Change the config once, every dependent type updates.

Checked what was actually driving cost on a side project's cloud bill this month.
Not compute, not storage — logging. A debug-level log line left on in production, running at scale, on a per-GB-ingested pricing plan.
One log level change, bill dropped noticeably.

Two years into running Letrix's infra on a single VPS, upgraded the plan for the first time this week. Not because it broke — because I finally added a second real workload to it.
Boring infrastructure is a feature, not a compromise.

Another "serverless is dead, go back to VPS" post doing the rounds this week.
Both are right for different jobs. The mistake isn't picking one — it's picking one and refusing to reconsider when the job changes.

What's a task you automated with AI that you were sure wouldn't work, and it just... did?
Mine was writing changelog entries from raw commit messages. Expected garbage, got something 90% ready to ship as-is.
