@KVanValkenburg well, writing does make a lot of difference. Luckily for AKOTSK, what they have were complete, coherent novellas ready to adapt (and some of George’s best writings). For HotD, not so much the case, but Condal still manages to to fuck up Daemon and vital plot like Blood and Cheese
