@DannPetty Output > everything else.
Tools come and go, skill always remains.
99.9% of Customers/users don’t care what tool you use.
You can learn a lot from just using pencil and paper. I remember making prototypes out of paper to user test ideas
@DannPetty In my opinion this only works for super experienced and talented designers who can basically design in their head. I would not recommend learning about design, crafting your skills whilst jumping straight to code
Hey @InVisionApp what are you doing with your wealth of resources? Particularly your ‘design disruptors’ and ‘the loop’ films? Wanted to give them a watch again but can’t find them anywhere online!
Hey @zeplin, not sure why this is a thing but when you export a board as a PDF, it changes the colour of the lines and text to turquoise and it’s completely inaccessible. Surely just export it the way it looks when you are in Zeplin?
@DannPetty but have to wait many more hours for it to complete and also face some damage. But they were more thankful for that guy due to the perceived effort.
Not charging hourly protects yourself, your skill and all the time and effort you put in to perfect your trade.
@DannPetty The best story I heard was from a locksmith who spent many years perfecting his trade. It meant he could charge a huge hourly rate. However, clients do not see this value, they just see the output.
@DannPetty So he could fix a complicated lock within 20 mins, without damage but the client would say how can you charge that much for such little of your time. Whereas when they hired someone with less experience but are cheaper, they could end up spending the same amount of money…
Hey @ring can you please sort out this link….
You can’t click it, doesn’t do anything. Tried to log in before but it’s such a faff to get into your account, when the wrong number is on the account.
A broken link here makes it such a rubbish experience.
@RingSupport can you help? You also say how you can chat online for support but whenever you try you just get pushed to call someone. If you aren’t actually going to offer a chat feature, don’t advertise it!

Imposter syndrome is so hard to deal with. Makes you think everything you do isn’t good enough and ends up paralysing you from progressing. Something that’s common with design, how do we tackle it? #UX#Design
