I’m delighted to see that in this week's @PrivateEyeNews, in its annual #RottenBoroughs Awards former @HgateAdvertiser Editor Jean MacQuarrie has scooped the award for “Toady of the Year”. Most richly deserved I would say.
Good grief @skynews. What's happened to your dress code standards? I've just watched your deputy political editor @SamCoatesSky being interviewed from home and he looked like he'd just got out of bed - in dishevelled jumper & teeshirt. What next week? Still in his pyjamas?
@MattWalkerLD The trouble with @ICOnews is that it's completely toothless. Very rarely properly punishes organisations which have breached data protection legislation. In my experience, complaining to the ICO is an utter waste of time.
Surely we're not STILL talking about splashing out £49 million redeveloping @HgtConventions? @HarrogateBC's useless councillors had the opportunity to invest heavily in the town's prime asset years & years ago - but failed to. To do so now would be a complete waste of money.
@thestrayferret So @NYCC_Leader Cllr Carl Les thinks "there could be risks involved spending £49 million redeveloping @HgtConventions. Surely the biggest risk is wasting £49 million of public money on (another) white elephant? (Remember the £18m wasted on @HarrogateBC's unnecessary new offices?)
@thestrayferret I guess Cooper can't cope with the thought that within a matter of months, he'll no longer be ruling the roost (thank goodness); and to all intents and purposes become completely irrelevant.
Further evidence (if it were needed) that @HarrogateBC Leader, Richard "Kim Jong" Cooper has completely lost the plot. A council officer posts abusive tweets about a councillor - and Cooper suggests it's the councillor who should apologize. Unbelievable!
@TylerReeton@thestrayferret Resigned? You make him sound like a man of principle. Presumably he "resigned" after being told that unless he did so, he would be sacked?
@jamespaylor32 @Daily_Express It's unbelievable. Just shows that Tory MPs have learnt nothing whatsoever. Let's bring back the man who brought in a law insisting that everyone must "stay at home". Meanwhile, he and his cronies broke the law and partied away. Just the person we need as our Prime Minister!!!!!
But questions should also be asked about the conduct of @HarrogateBC's overpaid Chief Executive Wallace Sampson. He was well aware of allegations that more than one Council officer was operating an abusive Twitter account. But effectively did nothing. He too should be sacked.
I congratulate @thestrayferret for exposing the disgraceful @HarrogateBC employee Steve Rogers who used his anonymous Twitter account to abuse councillors and others, including myself, over many, many, months. Just a shame he wasn't dismissed from his job earlier.
Last night’s #TheApprentice seemed to be all at sea with an over-complicated, three-way task. A bit fishy not to base the whole programme in #Cornwall. Why organize the (very contrived) pitch to the two prestigious London hotels? That struck me as being a complete red herring!
@thestrayferret I notice there's no quote in your story from what is supposed to be the Opposition party on @HarrogateBC, @HKLibDems. Don't tell me that (yet again) they've got nothing to say? Seriously, the LD group is shockingly poor. @LibDems
@thestrayferret Disgraceful use of public money. I trust the @HarrogateBC councillors/officers who approved this decision will be refunding the £700 (back to HBC coffers) from their own pockets.
@thestrayferret "A @HarrogateBC spokesperson said: `Although there is no statutory requirement to consult......`" How typical of the Council to make it sound as if it's been very charitable & out of the kindness of its heart made a point of asking residents what they think of the
masterplan.
