Putin just stole another $7 billion from the venal Europeans - Nestlé (Switzerland), Lemana PRO (France), Auchan (France), and a dozen other companies by transferring control of their Russian subsidiaries to a new shell company with one employee, General Andrei Krayushkin.
Next step will be to sell off these assets to his mafia buddies to further fund the murder of Ukrainians, like was done with Danone and Carlsberg.
The Kennedy Memorial is made of irreplaceable marble that was gifted by Italy.
Matisse tapestries found throughout were gifted from France.
The massive starburst chandelier in the Opera Hall, and lights along walkways, were a gift from Sweden.
The record-breaking stage curtains were a gift from Japan. They had to build special looms to weave them because of how big they are.
The grounds are beautiful with displays of art.
This is what Trump is destroying.
"Kremlev is the 'wallet' of [Putin's chief bodyguard] Alexei Rubezhnoy, the closest person to Putin," @zygaro told me. "Rubezhnoy is the first person who sees Putin in the morning and the last person to wish him good night before bed."
In my latest essay, I write about the deeply dangerous threats being made against U.S. Judges — and how, despite this, U.S. judges are displaying the courage to stand up to authoritarian threats and attacks on Democratic notions of the law.
If you follow American politics and are looking for another serious source of news from Washington, take a look at The Washington Sun — @washingtonsun.
I’m a Ukrainian war veteran and former sergeant with Ukraine’s 54th Separate Mechanized Brigade. After a serious accident left me disabled, I moved to Canada with my family. Despite everything, I try to stay active, follow events in the United States, Canada, Ukraine, and around the world, and share with my readers the stories I believe matter.
So today I’d like to give The Washington Sun, formerly known as NOTUS, a little boost. They cover American politics, government, and what’s happening in Washington.
Check them out and give them a follow: @washingtonsun.
Wishing The Washington Sun every success with its new name and this new chapter!
My latest in @TheAtlantic, about the women who form the backbone of Ukraine's resistance.
Many of the drone strikes we're seeing are the last link in a complex kill-chain — one that begins with agents deep behind enemy lines.
I was granted rare access to this network. Their courage is staggering.

The far-right President of Poland that supported the Russian-backed Orban regime and still supports the Russian-backed Romanian far-right is now alocating all his waking hours to attacking Ukraine, the one thing that stands between Russian and everything Putin wants in Europe.
No coincidence.
Trump is the greatest enemy of the US:
1. His unjustified claim to Greenland has effectively ended NATO.
2. His support of Putin has ended all claims to the US supporting democracy.
3. His end of all US international aid has ended US soft power.
4. His war on iran has presented the US as a global village fool.
5. His persistent insults of all friendly global leaders alienates all.
6. No US president has appointed more incompetent people.
7. Finally, a man who always lies can't have any credibility.
As stated above, Ukrainians support UPA not because of what happened in 1943 - we condemn that. Killing civilians for any reason is wrong. UPA is supported because of the fight for freedom against foreign occupation and tyranny. It is supported because of the actions like the heroes above.
My acquaintance with Poland began in 1985. It was a school trip to Warsaw, an exchange visit. We were housed in the gymnasium of a secondary school.
They simply set up beds and assigned a local boy to look after us. He clearly took no great pleasure in this, feeling no warmth toward us - Soviet strangers. Warsaw at that time was a gloomy city of a crushed revolution. Crushed by the Soviet Union.
The boy was constantly walking around with a thick book, which he was reading. Since I also loved thick books, I asked: “What are you reading?” He smiled ironically, as if to say — you people wouldn’t even know about something like this. But I didn’t give up.
Finally he answered: “You see, it’s a series called The Lord of the Rings. It starts with The Hobbit, and then continues - about a ring, about little people whose feet are like rabbits’.” Now it was my turn to smile ironically.
The thing was, The Hobbit was my favourite book. The afterword to the Soviet edition stated that a sequel, The Lord of the Rings, would be published soon. But it never came out, because someone in the USSR decided that The Hobbit was acceptable, but The Lord of the Rings wasn’t. The book he held in his hands was, in fact, my dream.
From that day on, the boy looked at us differently. Not that we became best friends but at least he smiled now.
What I’m trying to say. Life is an endless chain of decisions, big and small, a constant choice between love and hatred, good and evil. And there are always weighty arguments for either. We make the choice ourselves, depending on what is inside us and what we truly seek at that moment: peace or confrontation.
The President of Poland has found an argument for confrontation with a country whose throat is being squeezed by an enemy. Though conducting historical disputes with someone who is gasping for air is not the finest moment. Yet, it was his choice. Not so much as a Pole, but as a human being.
For me, Poland will remain as I saw Warsaw in the summer of 2024 — bright, open, European, and sympathetic to Ukraine. Christian in the highest sense of the word.
Historical discussions should be conducted with a calm mind and peace in one’s heart. After all, history is one great cemetery. To shout that the graves of our ancestors are worth more than yours is absurdity, and the very opposite of what the United Europe stands for.
All things considered, no one has devised a better approach to that cemetery than the great Pole John Paul II: “To forgive and to ask for forgiveness.”
No sane person believes Trump wouldn't sell out any and every US interest and use every lever of government power to improve his personal brand and family bank accounts. Republicans just hope to gain while it happens and Democrats are too feeble to stop it.
To call China a "potential ally" of Europe, like Spain's Sanchez does, that says more about him than about China. It seems he suffers from infatuation with authoritarianism. That is, of course, a tradition with some "leftist". Such people pose a clear & present danger to Europe.
@igorsushko It's true that Poland elected a Kremlin stooge.
But the problem is the Kremlin is spending a ton of money on asymmetric warfare all over Europe to get their stooges in power.
I mean they got their stooge in power in US. Much cheaper to do it in small EU countries.
