@SmurfAc1717 @anwesh_bh As a researcher, in the long term I lose the career pace of engineering, but as a research engineer I can always switch gears to research if I want. Also, the academic pressure of being a PHD is huge, and the monetary loss of not being an SWE is also something to think about.
