@the_transit_guy Quick research, I found these things cost between 25 and 50k each. You’d need one in every classroom. Depending on its size, a school has between 20 and 100 classrooms. You’re talking spending between 500 grand and 5 million per school. Good luck getting those funds approved.
Luigi Mangione’s pretrial hearing has concluded with a bombshell from Luigi’s lawyer:
The cops lied and made up that Luigi’s mom said “it’s something she could see him doing.”
She never said that. They fabricated this statement to try to implicate Luigi.
AOC: I want to remind you where the real crime is. It's in the oligarchs taking $170 billion of our money from health care and food assistance and public programs and taking that and funneling it into a secret police program.
It's the authoritarians trying to create a black box because once it is established they can put political dissidents inside of it.
Today is the 19th day that Joe Biden and Kamala Harris have continued to arm Benjamin Netanyahu despite the ICC formally accusing him of war crimes, thus making them guilty of war crimes as well.
If the FEC won't do it's job, the American people should be able to go to court to enforce campaign finance law.
We filed an amicus brief explaining why: https://t.co/mmsuk6VK9H
A recent report found that the for-profit US healthcare system ranks last among peer nations.
We spend twice as much per capita on healthcare and have the worst health outcomes.
Reminder that Medicare For All would save $450B in health care costs and 68,000 lives per year.
The class war isn’t something the working class wages on the rich.
The class war exists – it’s existed for thousands of fucking years.
It is waged by the ruling class. They are at war with us already. And we are losing.
It’s revealing how wrong the corporate media pundits and Dem party operatives were about Bernie. They spent 2016 and 2020 gaslighting the public that Bernie would destroy the Democrat party when he was just trying to save it from itself. Bernie was the compromise for most of us. We supported him because he was fighting for much needed social reforms that didn’t go far enough, but would alleviate some of the suffering caused by corporate greed. But after watching the Democrats fight harder against Bernie than they’ve ever fought against Republicans it became clear that the party is actively standing in the way of progress for the working class. This caused many of us to leave the party and vote third party. In short, the party destroyed itself.
@Slickiceman@Inhumansoflate1 I disagree. But why do you think so? IMO, lots of poor on poor killings are caused by poverty, which is caused in turn by wealth inequality.
@Inhumansoflate1@bebe_franklin Wealth Inequality threatens long-term social and economic development, harms poverty reduction and destroys people's sense of fulfillment and self-worth. This, in turn, can breed crime, disease and environmental degradation.
