Zlatan Ibrahimovic recognizes a Somali in the crowd and starts speaking Somali to him. How come nobody really knows other ethnic groups in East Africa like they do Somalis?
@KWKsiribuor68@Chiefofbridge There is FIFA coordination failure. Unfortunately, the unfair treatments to some developing countries team members (players, coaches,& fans, plus the denial of US entry visa @ Florida Airport to the Africa Best Referee of 25/26 H.E, OMAR ARTAN is like receiving hard blows Africa
I am deeply grateful for the overwhelming support, encouragement, and kind messages I have received from people around the world. Your solidarity has reminded me that football unites us beyond borders. Thank you to everyone.
If you admire and support Omar Artan, remember the man who sacrificed his own life for
millions of Somali back home inclouding Omar Artan and for the football world: the legend Elman Ali Ahmed.
This man brought peace to an entire nation because of football.
I urge FIFA to take strong action. We, the Somali people, have sacrificed a lot to be part of football, and we will not bow down to terrorists, Zionists, or Nazis like Trump.
We deserve to be part of the FIFA World Cup.
Take responsiblity and bring law and order NOW !
Well done to the Mayor of New York, Zohran Mamdani, for speaking out against the discriminatory visa policy that has seen Africa’s top referee and several football coaches denied entry into the United States.
Shame on FIFA and its president, Gianni Infantino, who seems more interested in currying favour with Donald Trump than standing up for football and the principles of fairness and inclusion that the game is supposed to represent.
FIFA has failed spectacularly and turned this World Cup into a laughing stock. A global tournament cannot claim to represent the world while excluding some of the very people who make the game possible.
Somali referee Omar Artan, who was set to be the first from his country to officiate at the World Cup finals, has been denied entry to the United States.
We, the Somali people, are deeply grateful for the incredible support that Omar Artan has received from football fans around the world.
Football is more than just a game—it is passion, identity, and a language that unites people across borders. Unfortunately, many in America still do not fully understand what football means to the rest of the world.
Somalis have a special love for the beautiful game. Few nations live and breathe football the way we do. From the streets of Mogadishu to Somali communities across the globe, football is part of who we are.
Thank you once again to everyone who has supported Omar Artan and shown love to the Somali people. 🇸🇴⚽️💙

In Minnesota, 90,000 students have graduated across the state.
90,000 graduates, 40,298 of those graduates, received a bachelor's degree (university level).
7,448 are #Somali.
That means out of every 10 people graduating from university, 2 are Somali.
Put another way, a community smaller than 1% of the total population has produced nearly 20% of university graduates.
This is the real reason why Republicans and Donald Trump are targeting the morale and confidence of the Somali community.

Sagal Abdi-Wali - elected this evening as the leader of Camden Council. A massive job. She’s probably the first person of Somali origin to lead an English Council.
