The decision to expel Afghan students is shameful and inhumane. Afghan students, especially female students, cannot get an education under the Taliban in Afghanistan. Taliban known for terrorism are invited to deliver talks at NDU but Afghan students are expelled. #Cruel
Want to understand Pakistan’s Afghanistan policy? Look at who it empowers and who it punishes.
For decades, extremists found sanctuary and support. Today, Afghan students, refugees and ordinary families face expulsions, restrictions and closed doors.
Now even Afghan medical students are reportedly being told to leave.
Keep Afghanistan uneducated. Keep it economically weak. Keep its people displaced. Then call its dependence inevitable.
It isn’t inevitable. It is the product of policy.
America and Iran may be bitter enemies, yet Iranian immigrants live peacefully in the United States, with their dignity and basic rights protected, while Iranian students continue to pursue their education at American universities. They are not collectively punished simply for being Iranian.
Meanwhile, Pakistan is forcing Afghan students out of the country, not because they committed a crime, not because they failed their studies, but simply because they are Afghans. Students who have spent years of their lives, money, sacrifice, and hope pursuing their degrees are being forced to abandon their education, some of them in their final year, and return to Afghanistan with nothing but the loss of everything they worked for.
What kind of strength punishes students for the passport they carry? What kind of power destroys years of education to make a political point?
This is not strength. It is not security. It is not patriotism.
It is pettiness, resentment, and collective punishment dressed up as policy.
When a state chooses to crush the dreams of students because of their nationality, it reveals far more about the character of that state than any speech, slogan, or diplomatic statement ever could.
You can deport a student from a country. You cannot deport the truth from history.
And history will remember who had the power to show mercy and chose cruelty instead.

The Taliban are terrorists, and any effort to legitimize them is reckless and dangerous.
We introduced the Preventing the Recognition of Terrorist States Act, which would formally designate the Taliban as a foreign terrorist organization, designate the Taliban-led government of Afghanistan as a State Sponsor of Terrorism, and prohibit federal agencies from recognizing the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.
We’ve seen what happens when America sends mixed signals to our enemies. The United States must never legitimize terrorists or terrorism.
She is yet again, another apologist brainwashed by @realZalmayMK’s pro Talib normalization narrative. Taliban is not just “one group or another”. Taliban is a cluster of terrorist groups incomparable to any other group however evil the other group may be.
Dear @aishabbwahab,
Diplomacy cannot be defended as a meaningful strategy without first addressing the fundamental question: why should diplomacy be considered appropriate for the Taliban, but not for Al-Qaeda or ISIS?
If the argument is that diplomacy can resolve conflicts with groups that use terrorism and violence, then it needs to be applied consistently. The United States does not pursue diplomacy with Al-Qaeda or ISIS as legitimate political interlocutors because it regards them as terrorist organizations that cannot be treated as conventional political partners. So what, precisely, is the basis for treating the Taliban differently?
The distinction cannot simply be that the Taliban now exercises territorial and political control. Control of territory does not, by itself, erase an organization’s history, ideology, conduct, or relationship with terrorism. If the Taliban is fundamentally different from Al-Qaeda or ISIS, that difference needs to be clearly demonstrated rather than assumed.
Therefore, before arguing that diplomacy with the Taliban is the solution, one must establish what has substantively changed, why the Taliban should be treated as a legitimate negotiating counterpart, and what prevents diplomacy from merely legitimizing or enabling the same forces and objectives that previously made engagement unacceptable.
Otherwise, saying that “diplomacy works” risks becoming an assertion rather than an argument. The real question is not whether diplomacy can ever work, but whether there is sufficient reason to believe that diplomacy with the Taliban is fundamentally different from diplomacy with other jihadist organizations that the United States refuses to engage.

Afghanistan faces a deep humanitarian, economic, and climate crisis, but NATO-countries have forgotten their solemn promises to stand by the Afghan people
Five years on, the civilian population is caught in an increasingly dire humanitarian situation, and a growing funding gap is forcing humanitarian organisations to scale down food, water, shelter and medical assistance to homeless and starving Afghan families.
