Here's an 8-point "@Polkadot Funding Food for Thought" thread by @giottodf (aka #16DG-a MAJOR $DOT holder/voter). Giotto's key points to explore: 👉Treasury Funding recipients need not be self-sustaining 👉 Self-sustainability adds an unnecessary layer of complexity 👉 #Polkodot-as-organism/Valuable contributor-as-organ analogy 👉 One's usefulness is not predicated on self-sufficiency 👉 Expectation of self-sufficiency can challenge quality 👉 Value of contributors is key for future funding 👉 The value-add argument is paramount Thoughts? Opinions? Perspectives? Giotto's vote is major in #Polkadot's #OpenGov system. He is currently one of few independent $DOT holders/voters who can shape the outcome of a particular funding proposal. He's often in communication with both the community and other groups, including the @ChaosDAO, @TheKusamarian etc, IVY (major $DOT delegate) reps such as Harrison etc. Giotto also shares his ideas with various $DOT validators, Scytale members (a major pro-Polkadot Investment firm), members of Parity & W3F and even some projects founders. In recent months, phrases like "the Giotto Effect" have been coined (in the context of OpenGov). Given how involved Giotto has become, I think it's worth: 1) knowing about Giotto, 2) knowing about his perspective & 3) interacting & sharing your own views, esp. given Giotto is very active in the #Polkadot ecosystem. 👍

Once greeted with skepticism, his wisdom and educational approach are now captivating a growing audience. He’s emerging as a central figure in the @Polkadot community. Remember, when the fan club starts – and it will – you heard the idea here first! 😁 #16DG
