@ThatTomHall Lol Tom did you ever play that choose your own adventure game @platformalist did for #3cjam ?
Many binary choices.. but it tracks all the paths you've hit
There's a lot of people signed up on itch (or more than #3CJam so it seems like a lot to me)
Anyone have any #MMAMJam progress pics to share?
#pico8 #fantasyconsole
@Grumpydev We did a little one last year -- #pico8 #3CJam
I uhhh went kind of overboard making a 'gallery' cart where you solve item-based puzzles to unlock carts / costumes:

(This year, I'm making a much simpler menu-based thing to help people locate the entries)
@Elastiskalinjen yeah the particles and images look really nice
btw @platformalist did a choose your own adventure for #3CJam https://t.co/19E802I6j7
big challenge there was fitting in all the text and keeping it under the compressed size; had to make a thing to store 'words' in sprite/map data
@HokutoAndy @castpixel @lexaloffle you can try some games right there on the forum. they play in the browser
fyi mobile browser support is there on the forum too but needs to work (especially for sound)
shameless plugging of some of my carts:

@Karumalumba @platformalist did a choose your own adventure for #3cjam
I /think/ it was like.. ~130 'pages'? But they were all 2-option prompts
the biggest advice I have is to watch compressed space (on any text-heavy #pico8 project)

lol i know this is a dad joke, but i actually did host a #pico8 gamejam a few months back with @castpixel .. #3CJam
and i even made an overly-involved sandbox style 'hub' where you solve puzzles to find 'carts' that unlock the jam gams people made:
https://t.co/EZizK2T7M5 https://t.co/oy8OCPWlmW
@pvlnzmv @castpixel Yeah, I haven't posted much about it
Now that the #3cjam hub is finally done (https://t.co/EZizK2T7M5) expect more frequent updates -- aside from our design doc.. some recent pico8 features have really.. opened up possibilities :)
@platformalist @castpixel @Liquidream @Jusiv_ @mccolgst @guerragames @TaeckerWyss @TomSolacroup @npckc @frescogusto @dollarone @eggboycolor @106games @andmatand The #3CJam Hub has been updated!
This update adds a cart for Spiritboard by @CaptainMarcy as well as 2 new masks to unlock (both inspired by Spiritboard)

(it was supposed to go out just after Halloween)

I stand corrected... /this/ is rough character art
Back when what was done on the witch game with @castpixel was going to be more of a basis for the engine
