If there's anything that can be shown through the hundreds of #7DaysOfFieldwork posts, it's just how many women in the geosciences and other science disciplines "go out in the field in [ALL of these places] and are miles & miles from everything"!!! #WomenInSTEM #WomenInGeology
Just so we're clear, the @AAPG president just stated:
'I can’t imagine a female geologist going out in the field in places like Argentina, South America, the Middle East, & places like that & being out there miles & miles away from everything.' 🤬

Happy #GeologistsDay⚒️ From hand-lense to compasses, geologists have traveled around the world to understand the planet we live on and its history🌎 I wanted to write a short post on how I celebrated Geologist's Day by participating in #7DaysOfFieldwork

Day 6 of #7DaysofFieldwork features my hometown of #Sudbury ON 🇨🇦! We visited the Sudbury Impact Structure and learned about impact crater formation and products. Our final project involved mapping the occurrence of Sudbury #Breccia! Thanks for the great course @drcrater!
Final Day of #7DaysOfFieldwork! Ending in the volcanically rich lands of Iceland where lava fields and fissure vents are used to understand volcanic eruptions on Mars 🌋 I traveled in 2019 to study the roughness of the 2014-15 Holuhraun lava flow-field using #radar and #lidar
Day 6 of #7DaysOfFieldwork! Off to Lanzarote, the fourth largest Canary Island part of Spain! Studied the terrain, eruption style and regional geology of the islands volcanic deposits! Part of the #CanMoon 2019 recon field team 😊#geology #Lanzarote #volcano
