Boogie Nights ('97)
⭐⭐⭐⭐
One of those films you can sit back & marvel at. It's a technical masterpiece. The soundtrack, the camera work & the performances make for a such an immersive experience you feel like you're there. & #BurtReynolds tops it all off

Jacob's Ladder ('90)
⭐⭐⭐½
The only film on my list I'd (partially) seen before, when I was 10. I had no clue what was going on but I was there was #MacaulayCulkin. Really glad I revisited this #horror 25yrs later. Quite the trip.

The Age of Innocence ('93)
⭐⭐⭐
For all its vivacious vocabulary, frilly frocks and stunning sets, I found #MartinScorsese's period romance to be a bit of a drag. It's the first & only Scorsese film I've struggled with but still so much to admire.

Thunderbolt ('95)
⭐⭐⭐
#JackieChan (mostly) trades in #martialarts for high octane car chases, as he goes up against a street-racing gang, to rescue his kidnapped sister. It's utter cheese but now I just want to see Chan in the Fast & Furious saga.

Virtual Obsession [Host] ('98)
⭐⭐⭐
If you were around in the #90s chances are you'll recognise the cast in @MickGarrisPM mind-bending #SciFi. Alongside Mick on writing duties is Preston Sturges' son.
The most comforting watch Ive come across in a while

Malcolm X ('92)
⭐⭐⭐⭐
Pure coincidence that I watched #MalcolmX the day before his birthday. For me, from a technical standpoint; this is #SpikeLee's masterpiece & should've swept the Oscar noms. #DenzelWashington's unshowy performance is perfection.

Batman: Mask of the Phantasm ('93)
⭐⭐⭐
After the bad taste the last Spider-Man film left & with a new #Batman movie around the corner, I decided to check out the mound of animated Bat flicks. I was hoping for a more adult affair but this'll do to start

Very Bad Things ('98)
⭐⭐⭐½
Moral of the story: Don't ever invite @ChristianSlater to your bachelor party. You know exactly what's going to happen & you're waiting & cringing until it does. Hilarious insanity that gets wilder & wilder

Being John Malchovich ('99)
⭐⭐⭐⭐
I know this is one of @Gibboanxious top movies & I must say I agree. It took me a while to realise I was watching #CameronDiaz. Absolutely nothing like I expected, yet it was exactly the way I imagined. One-of-a-kind.

Dolores Claiborne ('95)
⭐⭐⭐½
Stupidly this was a #StephenKing adaptation I put off for years because it wasn't rooted in the horror genre. But as we all know some of his strongest & best work are character driven dramas. #KathyBates is in top form.
#90FilmsFromThe90s 80/90
The Doors ('91)
⭐⭐⭐½
I wasn't expecting a full 140 min glitzy acid-trip biography from #OilverStone, but it works so well. #ValKilmer's stories are that of Hollywood legend now, but what a sensational portrayal of The Doors frontman #JimMorrison.

Dead Man ('95)
⭐⭐⭐
This is only my 2nd #JimJarmusch film, & as much as I like the style of them, I was not blown away by either. Good to see #LanceHenriksen outside of horror & #JohnnyDepp as always, shows his range as both leading man/character actor.

Affliction ('97)
⭐⭐⭐
It was #JamesCoburn's #Oscars win that initially got me interested, but it feels more like a Legacy win than on merit of the role. #NickNolte carries this dreary #90s psychological mystery, with excellent support from #SissySpacek

Four Rooms ('95)
⭐⭐⭐½
Follows the shift of the new bellhop, Theodore, at the Mon Signor Hotel. Four segments directed by four directors incl #QuentinTarantino & #AllisonAnders. It's great seeing #TimRoth given time to shine.

Alaska ('96)
⭐⭐⭐
When I was 10 it was a toss-up between getting this or The Amazing Panada Adventure on VHS, & I chose the panda film because I didn't give a shit about #CharltonHeston. Now I'm 34 & love Heston. Stunning family film packed w/ cuteness.

Bullseye! ('90)
⭐⭐⭐
James Bond (#RogerMoore) & Harry Palmer (#MichaelCaine) pair up in this ridiculous comedy from the minds of Michael Winner & Menahem Golan. I couldn't help but enjoy every minute of it. Hilarious but there's no accounting for taste.

Legends of the Fall (94)
⭐⭐⭐½
It won Best Cinematography but its #JamesHorner's expansive & emotive score that takes centre stage, propelling the drama & tradgey in #EdwardZwick's rich period piece. Bookended by fine turns from #AnthonyHopkins & #BradPitt
#90FilmsFromThe90s 73/90
Night and the City ('92)
⭐⭐⭐
#RobertDeNiro made 24 movies from '90-'99, a lot of them successful, some of them all-time classics, and a few no one remembers. This remake of the 50s Noir from #IrwinWinkler is the latter. Not as bad as you'd think.

Dead Again ('91)
⭐⭐⭐
#KennethBranagh directs his 2nd feature, and there's definite lingering feels of Shakespeare in this #90s mystery. Quite far fetched and overly indulgent, #RobinWilliams' small role against type was the highlight for me.
