THAT FEELING that feeling when the @CAgovernor @GavinNewsom signs #ab152 into law to extend COVID leave through the end of the year on the same night as #sb868 and #ab1667 sponsored by @WeAreCTA to protect the retirement security of California’s educators! #WeAreCTA
GM @CAgovernor, it’s great to see you signing bills! You still have 2 important budget bills on your desk. #AB152 extends COVID sick leave thru the end of the year & #AB158 establishes a worker’s fairness tax credit; important measures to help low wage workers in CA.
All my Californians, #AB152 is sitting on @GavinNewsom desk waiting for a signature to extend COVID SPSL till Dec 31. This is just a temporary solution though. We need a permanent policy. Call the Governor 916-445-2841 and tell him to sign and extend COVID sick leave.
Essential workers have no choice but to show up for work in person! We need to #ExtendPaidSickLeave to protect all workers and families.
#AB152 is one of the important bills heading to @CAgovernor. Read more from @CalBudgetCenter 👇🏽

The legislation now heads to the governor's desk.

We know #PaidSickLeave saves lives. One study found that states whose workers newly gained access to paid sick leave saw 400 fewer confirmed #COVID19 cases per day, translating into approximately one case prevented for every 1,300 workers per day. #AB152
#AB152 to extend #PaidSickLeave for essential workers infected with #COVID19 through Dec. 31, 2022 was just passed by the #CAleg and heads to the Governor's Desk.
Why does @WeAreCTA support #ab152? Paid sick leave is a critical public health tool to contain the spread of COVID-19. The bill passed and heads next to the Governor's desk. Here is the unofficial vote count:
