Another takeaway from González-Martin's article and #afsam20 is that folk scholarship isn't always published in folk journals. I'm excited to see the new changes at JAF/JFR/WF, but I wonder if/how past policy at these journals contributed to a "hidden curriculum" in the field? [5

So weird to wake up in my own bed the morning after #AFSAM20 ! The dance party was divine; I loved grooving with colleagues after an incredibly intellectually stimulating conference. I agree with many: despite the weirdness & Zoom fatigue, the format was powerfully democratizing.
