The session at Mbagathi County Referral Hospital was one of six trainings conducted across six counties.
These leaders are more than participants; they are now AHD ambassadors. They understand the grounds, the language, and the barriers people face in accessing care. They will take AHD information back to their groups and workplaces, helping to dispel myths, end stigma, encourage early health-seeking behaviour, and connect more people to lifesaving services. @MOH_Kenya

We remembered lives lost, advanced community leadership through the launch of the #AHD Support Network & Support Group, and strengthened long-term community ownership.
The memorial brought together young people, partners, @afrocab_hiv AHD Champion @erickokioma, and CAB member Sharon Obilo, who shared experiences and testimonies on the realities of Advanced HIV Disease and the importance of community-led responses.

On the final day of #INTEREST20, Francis Nwankwo, @afrocab_hiv CAB member from Nigeria highlighted the critical role of Community Advisory Boards (CABs) in strengthening #AHD responses for paediatrics and diverse populations.
CABs help to:
✅Build community literacy on AHD
✅ Advocate for equitable access to diagnostics and treatment
✅Identify gaps in national guidelines and service delivery
✅Support provider and community engagement
✅Amplify PLHIV experiences through community-led investigations
✅Promote community leadership in HIV decision-making
