👋🇿���Electricity tariffs | Trying to understand the high Eskom tariff's we pay! In 2019 Eskom sought to increase our electricity traiff by 15% per annum over 3 years. Here's why: 1) In 2018: Eskom purchased IPP power at R2.22 kWh. 2) In 2017: Eskom paid IPP companies R1.88 kWh 3) Then Eskom GM Callie Fabricius said Eskom has no power over which IPP to purchase power from. Our Government tells Eskom 4) He also said Eskom costs associated with renewable IPPs will continue to increase due to commitments from the earlier bid windows 5) Remember Andrew Kenny said in 2016 that renewables are a huge burden forcing massive costs upon Eskom, which it passes on to its customers with increased tariffs. 6) But, according to this report (link in comment) OUTA said that consumers should not have to pay the high price for corruption at Eskom. Question: ❗️If Eskom attributes the high cost in tariffs to the high cost to buy power from IPPs' is there any proof that the RE IPP's are corrupt/ overcharging, or what corruption was attributed to the high cost to Eskom in purchasing power from RE IPP's at R2.22kWh?
