What a week! I have learnt so much already at this years @anzic_iodp #ANZICmasterclass held at @UqEnvironment and @QUT. A busy couple of days to go before the team head to the field. @HelenBostock5 and @LukeNothdurft leading this amazing student focused week.

The #ANZICmasterclass helped process the cores from the 2022 Halo Project (@Mattcle15185544), that aims to investigate large bioherms of #Halimeda (green calcareous macroalgae) in the northern Great Barrier Reef! These ancient donut-shaped deep-water bioherms are a mystery!
Day 1 of the #ANZICmasterclass jumped straight into core flow & core description!
Students got to experience the MAGIC of being the first people on Earth to see a slice of Earthβs history as they slit a coreβ¨οΈ
