This is not a rant; it's just a collective expression of disappointment and frustration after 10 years of following a club to escape the harsh realities of life, only to realize that your escape is just as disheartening as your life. When you hear that a club's major face is India's largest sporting icon and that its name was suggested by the state's then-ruling Chief Minister, there's an immediate curiosity factor. That curiosity soon turns into admiration after the first season. Sadly, it's been a rollercoaster ride since then—more downs than ups. If you can't create a football legacy after owning a club that has one of the best fanbases in the country, both in quality and quantity, that is situated in one of football's hotbeds, had a major sports icon as its face, and whose fan engagement videos are used by league organizers for their own digital impressions, then it's a lost opportunity—a FUCKING GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY. Ten years down the line, the club still doesn't have a women's team, a proper residential academy, or its own training facility. Instead, we have excuses,excuses and more excuses from members of the fans' association, the management, and the sporting director. Every season, there’s a new word to justify the failure to meet AIFF licensing criteria, the departure of important players, and an average performance. The only consistent thing is a ridiculous January transfer window, during which the club loses momentum after starting the season brilliantly. There is no real postmortem or review after every average season. All you get is a random statement on social media from the club's director, who promises big things season after season. It's a hellish loop of hope, disappointment, and anguish, year after year, for fans. There is no transfer policy, no proper football structure, no football philosophy, and if this continues without any change, the club will fade into oblivion, as history has shown before. And if you need change, it has to start from the top as soon as possible.
