Twenty years ago, on June 13th, the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) took effect after unanimous approval from all parties of the Legislature. This landmark legislation set 2025, as the target year for achieving accessibility in Ontario.

After yesterday @TIFF_NET where people were refused entry to buy a movie ticket without showing proof of #VaccinePassport despite it's #Ontario implementation in 5 days, has the #protest at Queens Park #Toronto right now even larger because #HumanRights violation! #AccessON

AODA started the conversation about accommodating visible & invisible disabilities and is making a difference; getting access is no longer a personal battle but a right. One student who traveled with a service dog often faced reprisals; now she does not.#AccessON #week5tech252
