We recently hosted a gathering for our #AdoptaMonument groups in Athlone where the focus was on sharing and storage of information. Huge thanks to all who attended and our speakers from @dri_ireland, @ItsOurHeritage (iCAN) and @DiscProg.
It was great to see an #AdoptaMonument site feature during the @NationalMons Annual Conference in Dublin on Saturday. Dr Susan Curran of @DiscProg's talk on using remote sensing techniques to uncover hidden history included the great geophysical survey results from Dunmanoge
It's been great to work on several of these sites as part of #AdoptaMonument, including Baltimore Ringfort and Killaghtee church. Our work has included geophysical survey & digital recording

Bailieborough History Society received a @Heritagehub Community Heritage Grant for the creation of a Conservation Management Plan for Bailieborough Old Church of Irl Church & Graveyard. One challenge is balancing the needs of the built and natural heritage #AdoptaMonument
Conservation works continue this year at Killeshandra the Church of the Rath #AdoptaMonument site, thanks to a Heritage Council Community Heritage Grant. These before and after shots show the great work that goes into the stonework.
Our Adopt A Monument programme participant Moygara Castle Research and Conservation Group are receiving funding of €100,000 under the Community Monuments Fund for 2024 for the next stage of vital conservation works at the site.

Doon Fort in Donegal is nearing the end of its conservation journey. A Heritage Council Community Heritage Grant will see the wall walk completed & stabilised this year. This is a huge achievement for the community volunteers & contractors involved along the way. #AdoptaMonument
