When I was a university student, there was no ferry, no waterbus for Island residents or visitors to the Islands, we used #Anduro, engine boats like in this picture taken in 2003. No ring road, no electricity etcs. Things have really changed in the past few years. Both Rusinga and Mfangano Islands have ringroads (Mfangano all-weather, tarmac just began - Rusinga full tarmac), electricity, and Government's public ferry that Preident Ruto promised when he last toured Mfangano Island, is almost ready. A lot is going on kwa ground. Modern Markets. Piers. Fish landing sites. Mbita-Sindo road is currently being tarmacked. Koguta-Sindo on the pipeline and a number of feeder roads lined up. Expansion of healthcare access/CHPs etcs. Team DAYAT NYAKA LOKI will push harder on making Rural Education work for our kids, food security, linking youth and women with opportunities and improvement of livelihoods kila home, every ward.
