- Net Centric Warfare. Integrated Battlefield Management System (BMS) and Identification of Friend or Foe (IFF) Systems giving a common operational picture to support collaborative all-weather operations.
- BLOS Strike Capability. Able to employ LMs (Loiter Munitions) in conjunction with surveillance drones (compatible with in-service surveillance drones with a suitable human interface) as a system from the platform.
- 360º Vision. Day/night sensors mounted on hull and turret, providing 360° stitched mosaic panoramic view of outside the platform, with suitable inputs to the C4I system.
- Cyber Warfare & Electronic Warfare (EW) Capability. Fully cyber hardened, capable of operating in a contested Intense Electronic Warfare (EW) Environment with Counter Jamming abilities for a secure voice & data communication, as well as for controlling Drones / Swarms.
- Navigation. Defence Series Maps (DSM) compatible Hybrid Navigation System retaining the capability for incorporating satellite [Indian Regional Navigation Satellite System (IRNSS)] and Inertial Navigation.

By 2000, the Indian Army placed an initial firm order for 124 Arjun Mk‑1 tanks, with first deliveries in August 2004. - 75th Armoured Regiment, converted in 2011 with Arjun tanks
The 124 Mk‑1 vehicles are split between these two regiments, and the Mk‑1A induction is still underway.

Arjun Tank Project is Suffering Another Devastating Delay due to the German production line of the 1400 HP MTU MB 838 Ka-501 V10 diesel engine, powering the Arjun Mk-1 tank shutting down. This would also hurt the supply chain of the spare parts of the existing 124 tanks in service.
