#IndianArmy is yet to repeat the #ArjunMBT history after 34 years. Future Ready Combat Vehicle #FRCV requirements are unrealistic, and until now, even the KF51 Panther, Merkava Mk 4 Barak, T-14 Armata, AbramsX and VT-4 do not have all of these capabilities.

At the #RepublicDayParade2026, the Indian Army brings its heaviest battlefield punch to #KartavyaPath—where armoured might meets long-range precision.
From the crushing dominance of #T90 and #ArjunMBT to the lethal accuracy of #ATAGS and #Dhanush, this is a decisive showcase of combat readiness, firepower supremacy, and indigenous strength.
Built to deter. Designed to win. ⚔️🇮🇳

second most expensive endeavor has been the #ArjunMBT developed by DRDO's Combat Vehicles Research and Development Establishment (CVRDE).
The Arjun MBT program originated in 1974 under the DRDO’s Combat Vehicles Research and Development Establishment (CVRDE), with design consultancies from Krauss‑Maffei. Originally estimated modestly in FR 1974, the cost ballooned through decades. By the mid‑1990s, development cost had increased nearly 500%, though specific rupee figures remain undisclosed. Early 2000s estimates pegged each unit at approximately $1.6 million (USD) in production cost, excluding inflated development overruns
By 2000, the Indian Army placed an initial firm order for 124 Arjun Mk‑1 tanks, with first deliveries in August 2004. Production completed around mid‑2012 lifeofsoldiers.com+3Wikipedia+3The National Interest+3. In September 2021, the MoD awarded a follow‑on contract for 118 upgraded Arjun Mk‑1A units at roughly ₹75.23 billion, equivalent to over $900 million USD (~₹8,500 crore)
Only two Indian Armoured Corps regiments operate the Arjun:
- 43rd Armoured Regiment, first inducted in 2004
- 75th Armoured Regiment, converted in 2011 with Arjun tanks
The 124 Mk‑1 vehicles are split between these two regiments, and the Mk‑1A induction is still underway.
When the tanks roar, the enemy falls silent.
Salute to the bravery of the BattleAxe Division!
#ArjunMBT is a symbol of strength.

was issued. As was in the case of #ARJUNMBT I suppose. But then things do change.
We do not have adequate exposure to what WHAP can do, However we can examine what are the western and Eastern approach to such sys.
The west has no non mobile inf like us. All their inf is mech
Saga of #ArjunMBT engine selection. Arjun Tank Project is Suffering Another Devastating Delay due to the German production line of the 1400 HP MTU MB 838 Ka-501 V10 diesel engine, powering the Arjun Mk-1 tank shutting down. This would also hurt the supply chain of the spare parts of the existing 124 tanks in service.
German engine for Arjun Mk 1A delayed by 4 years; DRDO looking to use indigenous engine
Germany has conveyed that it will take 4 years to restart the production of engines used in Arjun. German engines for DRDO Light Tanks were also delayed. #IADN

#IndianArmy and #BrazilianArmy commanders observed the #ArjunMBT and demonstrated its ability to coordinate with drones and infantry fighting vehicles using the Trishul battle management system, which allows it to exchange data with other vehicles. 1/2

Rajasthan | The World’s largest national flag made of 'khadi' was displayed along the India- Pakistan border in Jaisalmer to celebrate Indian Army Day. The flag was 225 feet long and 150 feet wide.

The aim of the #ArjunMBT Mk 1A program was to create an improved version of the Arjun Mk 1 tank while the Mk II was still being developed. According to a report by Janes in April 2017, the Indian Army and the state-run DRDO had a disagreement about the weight of the Arjun Mk II
Who are these enlightened Generals who in their infinite wisdom come up with GSQR like this???600mm RHAe in a 25 ton light tank with all the bells and whistles. And then we have 3500+ T series with an autoloader that can't take in long rods Fsapds .

@tweet_tweet8520 @Ikmitra1 @alpha_defense On a serious note most western army tanks that prioritise the survivability of tank & crew by eliminating deadly auto loader, adding CABIS , APU fr silent hunting ops, go fr 60 ton tanks like #MBTArjun
We already hv Eng support common to T90 & #ArjunMBT to take them anywhere
And we literally killed Arjun.
@PrasadSatya10 And batches of "invar" missiles bought with T90 , were faulty & returned.
#MBTArjun CLGM missiles thoroughly tested in Indian conditions, unlike invar (USP of T90)
T90 is improved T72 Design, not a thoroughly customized fr india #ArjunMBT design as per IA wish
8 Hrs later , @rwac48 a decorated General quoted the @TheNatlInterest piece dated 06th Dec 2019 and declared the Arjun MBT a "disaster" despite successful field trials of the Arjun Mk1A. This leads us to question :
"At what point should a series of coincidences be examined?"
