@lynnoconnacht The 7 books one is the only one I'm going to be missing too! (TBH I intended the different identities on the same spectrum challenge to be either in the same book /or/ in different books, so I'm sure you completed it by at least one definition!) #AspecChat
Q7) Er... Technically all of them? Practically, all but 2. I read 6 books (well, stories) and thus managed all but 2 challenges. I missed the one with multiple characters on different points on the same spectrum and the one reading 7 books. #AspecChat

@AspecApril I finished them. Woooo! A lot of my books over lapped & I read 4 short stories which helped!!
The one I was most worried about getting was disabled aspec character but I consider Alys from Beneath the Citadel disabled. She has panic attacks caused by anxiety #AspecChat

@AspecApril I don't have a problem connecting to characters with different personalities than mine, though I admittedly found Rumi a little relateable at times to myself and that age. At times. #AspecChat
@AspecApril A6. Having characters of different personalities is important because people have different personalities, and identitiy and personality are two different things. #AspecChat
Because of that, I think it's SO important to have a-spec characters of all different personalities. Not only does it help convey that we aren't a monolith, it also helps all different readers connect with their own stories (2/2) #AspecChat
Q6) I think it's invaluable to read about different personalities within a-spec books. Having a lot of different personalities is the best way to show that stereotypes about aces and aros especially aren't true at all.

I have a lot of trouble connecting with characters that aren't similar to me in personality! The ways I connected with Alice in LTAL and Rumi in SBB are soo different because of their different personalities! Alice was so much more like me (1/2) #AspecChat

@elizamirk Yea, whatever identity it is, I like it best when they play into it at least a little so you get a taste of it, even if they don't have to explain it or whatnot. #aspecchat
If we DON'T have both, then we end up with a situation where either people trying to figure themselves out can't use fiction to do so or we just queer (well, marginalised people in general really) into writing only one type of story. Neither is good. #AspecChat
