Update on #BOLDigger: For the selection of any type of top hit all database entries containing punctuation and/or numbers will be ignored. This leads to cleaner taxa lists and less data cleaning needed for final analysis 🤓
anyone else having issues with #BOLDigger since BOLD website crashed/updated (?) some days ago? After looking for a few COI sequences (<50), BOLD stops responding. Happens both with GUI and command line version :( @buchner_dominik any help?
Updated BOLDigger and BOLDigger command-line to version 2.0.0. Selection of the top hit is now more sophisticated, check out the Readme for a detailed description of the function. Command-line version is now as quick and functional as the GUI. #BOLDigger #python #metabarcoding

#BOLDigger update: Asynchronous requests are now implemented into #BOLDigger speeding up the identification engine 2-4 fold, depending on internet connection and database availability. Up to 1000 sequences per hour are now possible! @leeselab
#BOLDigger update: For top hits with high similarity and missing species-level assignment #BOLDigger will now query the API of BOLD to download missing data. Additional ~10% of OTUs of our test dataset could be assigned to species-level! @leeselab

I just gave a try to the command line version of #BOLDigger developed by @buchner_dominik for #metabarcoding OTU ID and I can't express how happy I am with how 1) easy it was to install, 2) easy it was to use, 3) great it is to have the private hits, 4) useful the flag system is.
