115 years ago by the village of Champigneulles in the Bellefontaine Valley, France, this beautifully evocative autochrome was taken amongst the poppy fields by Julien Gรฉrardin. It is original colour, not colourised.

Sometimes a photo will grab my imagination and make me want to clean it up & enhance it - just like this amazing portrait from 1922. It is the Swedish dancer Jean Bรถrlin, taken in Paris a hundred years ago. Absolutely fantastic.
We may be used to old colourised film on YouTube & Twitter, but nothing is quite as rare and fascinating as very early original colour film. This example was made by Gaumont in 1912 and shows bathers at the seaside in real colour 109 years ago. (The music recording is from 1909)

Wow ๐คฉ 102 years ago - on Saturday 3rd March 1918. The Great War rages & photographer Paul Castlenau travelled to what became Jordan to take this autochrome of Fayz Bey el Azm (companion of Emir Fayรงal) photo color by #Babelcolour. It looks now !
Let me take you back 95 years to the Syrian capital of Damascus in 1925. I've Babelised this amazing autochrome portrait of an Arabian Emir, which was taken by the French photographer Jules Gervais Courtellemont (1863-1931). It is original colour (not colourised). ๐ #BabelColour

I've restored this stunning inter-war autochrome for you - the iridescent sunlight giving it such a dreamlike quality. It was taken between 1925-1930, when crocheting was the new Xbox, and it is original colour (not colourised). ๐
