Firefighters prevented a high-rise balcony fire from spreading into the structure early this morning.   At approx. 05:28, 9-1-1 callers from a separate high-rise reported a fire that was getting bigger on the balcony of a high-rise in the 0-100 block of Cartier St. Firefighters arrived on scene 4min after being dispatched and confirmed smoke and flames coming from a 12th floor balcony. Firefighters quickly made their way to the 12th floor and extinguished the flames before they could spread inside the apartment or affect any other units. The fire was declared under control at 05:40, 7min after arriving on scene. There were no residents home in the unit at the time of the fire. No reported injuries. #OttNews
