Dr. Ndapewa Hamunime shared her experiences as a refugee in many African countries. She left to Zambia at 15 in 1974. She studied in exile and attained her degree in Kenya. She also holds a Masters in Business Admin and owns her own practice now. Truly inspiring. #BeFreeRefugee
25 y/o Edward came to Osire alone in 2013. He dropped out of school as he couldn’t speak English.He sold fire wood & saved enough money to start a TV shop business. He returned to school and is currently in grade 12. Encouraged strength and innovation to community #BeFreeRefugee
A woman shared that she came to Osire in 1999, she fell pregnant as a teenager and dropped out in grade 10 due to her pregnancy. She encouraged young mothers that life doesn’t end after having children, but to tackle the challenges head on. #BeFreeRefugee
This gentleman came from Angola and lived in Osire for 23 years. He gave a testimonial about persevering despite the odds. He excelled in high school, graduated with a Hon. in Economics and did his Masters at UNAM. He is now a lecturer at UNAM #BeFreeRefugee
A young man raises the question of how to deal with the challenges that come with being the head of a child headed household. This is common in Osire as some children come to the settlement with no parents and only their siblings or there is no parent involvement. #BeFreeRefugee
