Our #BestBling is this wrist watch which once belonged to Queensland aviator Sir Charles Kingsford Smith. In 2001 Australian astronaut Andy Thomas AO carried it on the space shuttle Discovery. It’s possibly been closer to the stars than any other #CURATORBATTLE object! #qldmuseum

As a council museum some of our #BestBling is mayoral chains & badges - and we have heaps! This is the chain & badge for the Borough of Birkenhead, incorporated into Wirral Council in 1974.

Hey @YorkshireMuseum here’s our #BestBling for #CURATORBATTLE it’s an early-medieval gold pendant with 2 inlaid garnets and filigree decoration. It was found by a farmer in the village of Glentham in 1979. We think it’s dazzling!

@YorkshireMuseum We're bringing the #BestBling with Elizabeth Cook’s mourning brooch containing a lock of hair - possibly hers rather than Cook's - inscribed Mrs. Elizth Cook Widow of the Circumnavigator / Obit 3 May 1835 aet 93.
Our offering for this week's #CURATORBATTLE theme of #bestbling is this lovely jet brooch worn by Lizzie Cook Vance in 1885. We love how the lights in our gallery pick out the sparkle in the deep black stones.
