This is actually the real truth. N to be completely honest with you, I don't blame those folks who "don't want those jobs" in the slightest.
I can almost guarantee you none of the #BigInternet Starbucks sipping laptop class folks who have this weird nostalgia for the era of dirty guilded age style manufacturing have ever actually set foot inside anything even remotely resembling a manufacturing setting, let alone worked that type of job for any extended period, let alone what the conditions were like back in those days. They just wanna use it as a political hammer against the shadowy "Elites".
I did some time down on Zug Island in Detroit in my younger days and I would never, ever, ever want to go back to doing that if I could help it and I certainly do not want that life for my children, and will do everything in my power to ensure they DONT have to do that.
It's dirty, loud, stinky, dangerous, grueling work. That WILL break your body eventually and yea folks can say this is an "elitest" take... and sure, it might be stirring and a little romantic in a stoic Bob Seger "Against the Wind" kinda way, when your young and impressionable, but once ya hit about 35 and youre hacking up a lung and can barley sit up in bed in the morning and you're too tired to play with your kids outside in the evening.
