And the fact that one day of the symposium was all men minus two made me irate, because I'm 110% certain there were amazing women who could've given great talks in a heartbeat even without slides. I know and met so many at #BioC2019 I'm in awe.
A lot of us didn't start with @Bioconductor when it first started. Many of us only joined recently. PS I'm touched how welcoming #BioC2019 was - to a newcomer who hasn't even developed a #bioc pkg. So this answer was shook me because it's antithetical to the community at large.
