The authors provide a nice example of this. One of their co-essential modules functionally linked C15orf57 (aka CCDC32) with the AP2 complex. The authors validated this in multiple ways and noted that #BioPlex includes physical interactions linking C15orf57 with AP2. 2/4
Co-essentiality can powerfully link uncharacterized genes with biological functions. This paper shows a nice way to identify functional modules across the genome based on co-essentiality. These approaches complement physical interaction networks like #BioPlex. 1/4
