I haven't put fiat into crypto for around 2 years now. I did the whole early Cosmos staking rewards when the markets were great and made a lot... lost a lot but I honestly got tired of chart watching and trying to be on 'the pulse' all the time. It was draining seeking profits and getting irritated when prices dipped.
Since the inception of @StargazeZone and my foray into NFTs, my aim is now solely to have fun. Do I want stuff to 'moon', yeah sure that'd be nice but if it does it does, if it doesn't...it doesn't. Life's stressful enough as it is with the curveballs it throws, so it's nice to have an 'out' so to speak.
I buy NFTs that are either visually appealing to me, where the community is strong, or have fun with a bit of FOMO buying (like playing the slots). The key for me is just diversifying my NFT collections. Of course some will fade into obscurity quickly and others will stand the test of the relative 'crypto time'. That's the risk *I* take purchasing anything and am mature enough to accept 'whatever happens, happens' and don't go on social media tirades about it.
I've been with Stargaze since inception and never originally bought with the intention of airdrops. That they unexpectedly have happened over time simply adds to the fun and makes for an awesome surprise, which then allows me to buy more of what I like and diversify further. Buying simply for the sake of expecting some mega drop(s) is leading yourself to disappointment.
Examples (there are a few others not mentioned):
@rekt_gang #rektbulls loved the art and community. Systematically bought over time and was rewarded with an unexpected and significant $LAB drop
@badkidsart loved the art and trait diversity. Result = handsomely rewarded with a good few airdrops
@afterthefilter love the art, sheer quantity of traits, animated chapters etc. Am I expecting any airdrops, no. Am I expecting the FP to rocket, no. However should this gain sudden and sustained momentum, I don't want to regret selling for what would be deemed a pittance from a future perspective. I just love having them in my wallet.
Only 3 examples above and which can be applied to other collections / communities.
My motto = have fun. Anything that results from that from a financially rewarding point of view = just the cherry on top.
Just bought my first @bitkidsart with a white hat – looks just like a younger me, 30 years ago! 😆 Feeling nostalgic and loving it!
