We can all be proactive in helping keep accessible toilets accessible. Either adjusting things that we see or escalating to the relevant building manager or estates team. Together, we can build a Trust that it accessible for all staff. #BuildingAbility #WorldToiletDay ^SO

Working on uploading conference presentations to the intranet for @NHS_ELFT staff to access #BuildingAbility ^LP
Working on uploading conference things and watching silent child video, which was shown at the start of the #BuildingAbility conference. Never got a chance to watch it myself due to being busy running around sorting out the start of the conference ^LP
@beckyd3rham @Post_P_Pioneers The most popular workshop at the recent #BuildingAbility conference was on wearing many hats at work reflecting on the intersections of lived experience & professional selves. We're currently thinking how we cont that exploration. @PPtherapiesELFT @RaviRanaELFT @Tanyamcarter ^SO
Patricia has been incredibly supportive helping us think through how we approach difficult conversations about identity and balancing lived experience at work. She arranged facilitators for conference and was uber encouraging in the office as we prepared. #BuildingAbility ^SO

Morning reflecting on the #BuildingAbility conference and thinking about best way to collect feedback ^LP
I received an email with this title this afternoon:
"feedback from the conference - read when you are ready it's not urgent". We talked at the #BuildingAbility conference about the importance of #kindness. This awareness and patience after a large event is very welcome. ^SO
A "battle", a "fight", are words used in stories I hear every week Lilu from people all over the country working for Trusts and at uni placement. Also, something discussed at some length in the workshops and main session I delivered at Friday's #BuildingAbility @ELFTAbility
@RichTea_ND @DiverseLearners @DyslexiaAdult Will do but it's been a while now and I had too many battles to fight. I have my headphones and juat doing my own homework. I've got where I have without help all these yrs and as they say, you develop your own strategies by now. Not sure it's worth it for me but for others yes.
Happy #AHPDay! Check out two of @NHS_ELFTs AHPs, Naomi and @alexalexalex32, starring in an @nhsemployers film talking about workplace adjustments. Together they prove that small adjustments, working differently and supportive managers help. #BuildingAbility #SeeTheAbility ^SO
One in every 10 people in the UK is dyslexic yet thereβs confusion around the best way to support a dyslexic employee. Often small adjustments can really help.
Naomi, who is severely dyslexic, shares the support she received at @NHS_ELFT

@LiluWheeler @RichTea_ND @DyslexiaAdult People get exhausted trying to navigate the system and get passed the barriers due to lack of info making this point on the workshops and presentation at #BuildingAbility @ELFTAbility as it is such an overlooked factor. Also, recommended info shared and a team to help employees
1/2 Spoke about instances like this on Friday at #BuildingAbility and gave examples and dispelled some myths.
Access to Work (AtW) DO NOT recommend or endorse any supplier.
You can choose your own supplier and AtW will pay your supplier up to the amount of the cheapest quote
@DiverseLearners @MohitVenkataram @ELFTAbility @ResearchGate Wish I'd known this before. It's what I said about us being considered the expert. I got some 'training' which was totally inappropriate but way ATW works you pay upfront and it's all done. Hard to get toolkit for adults or anyone teaching them.
.@PisaneschiLaura said she wasn't going to get her step count today as she hasn't been carrying her phone with her whilst #BuildingAbility. There's only so many things she can carry! I'm on 14000 steps and been slouched on the couch since 7pm. Conferencing is the new gym πͺ ^SO

@YasChoudhary1 @NHS_ELFT @NavinaEvans @PisaneschiLaura @richardharwin @J_stafford14 @MohitVenkataram @nlieck Thank you! We were proud to organise it, believing it was going to be a pivotal moment in shifting the Trustβs perspective on disability in the workplace. It was great to hear such thought-provoking discussions and seeing connections between attendees. #BuildingAbility ^SO
Thanks for taking time to tweet this feedback about my Access to Work and Assitive Technology session at #BuildingAbility for @ELFTAbility
As a speaker your vigorous nods and great eye contact really made a difference to how I felt too as well as your kind words afterwards
Great session today @ELFTAbility led by @DiverseLearners harnessing the ability of using expert support like access to work and making work environment inclusive. Itβs a social ill in todayβs world for us all not having the same life chances . Equality equals quality .
@WeStudentNurse @flamingcopper Spent the morning in bed and had breakfast there too. This was because I was in London yesterday speaking at @ELFTAbility #BuildingAbility and got back at 11pm and knew I'd be exhausted.
As a person who has multiple disabilities I have to be schedule "recovery time" in to my day
@LiluWheeler @MohitVenkataram @ELFTAbility 3/3 I have vlogs called Dyspraxia -Tips for adults on the diverselearners YouTube channel that includes lots of tips.https://t.co/sCpH8wAXr6
I'm a speaker at @DYSPRAXIAFDTN adult #dyspraxia conference on Oct 26th. It's in Birmingham - would that be a barrier? #BuildingAbility
