Today marks the 4th day of bus lanes in #Kigali.
Buses are moving faster, and the city is flowing better for everyone. This is a modern, organised, people-centred Kigali.
And this is only the beginning. More bus lanes and better public transport are on the way.
📌 PLEASE NOTE:
Dedicated bus lanes are now in use on four key corridors across Kigali:
1️⃣ Downtown – Remera (ku Cyamitsingi) via Rwandex and Sonatube
2️⃣ Sonatube – Nyanza ya Kicukiro
3️⃣ Downtown – Nyabugogo via City Centre Roundabout
4️⃣ Hotel Gloria – Downtown via Quartier Commercial

1) More investment needed into #PublicTransportation @ltmhyd @tgsrtcmdoffice
2) #BusPriorityLanes are needed so that all high occupancy vehicles can move faster than others @TelanganaCMO @CPCyberabad @CPHydCity
3) Better comfort and connection #PublicMobility has more adoption we can see
4) need to add reliability in the transportation
5) Need to provide first and last mile connectivity facilities.

As we have repeatedly pointed out in the past, we desperately require a dedicated bus transport system on similar lines to Transjakarta with our wide arterial roads.
Given the population density, capacity constraints in peak times and last mile problems, metro alone is not enough as an alternative for most.

Yes, it is feasible and it will help minimise the car traffic.
When the fleets are placed in correct demanded routes, then it will be appropriately used.
Moreover we need to keep #BusPriorityLanes so that buses are fast moving.
In addition, certain first mile and last mile connectivity needs to be structured and introduced.
