#CAC49: Uganda is participating in the 49th Codex Alimentarius Commission meeting this week in Geneva, Switzerland with representation from NDA, NWSC, Private Sector Development Programme Secretariat - MoFP&ED and UNBS. The session will consider international food standards in different areas that contribute to ensuring consumer health and facilitating fair practices in the food trade. New international standards of interest are also set to be approved including for products such as Cashew nuts, Shea butter, flours from roots and tubers. UNBS is the Codex Contact Point for Uganda and undertakes coordination arrangements to ensure effective and meaningful participation in the development of international standards that take into consideration the needs of the developing countries.

عقدت سلطنة عُمان، بصفتها المنسق الإقليمي لإقليم الشرق الأدنى (#CCNE)، وعلى هامش أعمال الدورة التاسعة والأربعين لهيئة الدستور الغذائي (#CAC49)، سلسلة من الاجتماعات التنسيقية مع أقاليم أمريكا الشمالية وجنوب غرب المحيط الهادئ، وأفريقيا، وآسيا، وأوروبا، إضافة إلى الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية، وذلك بمشاركة وفود دول إقليم الشرق الأدنى. وهدفت الاجتماعات إلى تنسيق المواقف الإقليمية وتعزيز التعاون مع مختلف الأقاليم بشأن الموضوعات المدرجة على جدول أعمال الدورة، بما يسهم في حماية صحة المستهلك، وضمان الممارسات العادلة في تجارة الأغذية، ودعم أعمال هيئة الدستور الغذائي. #مركز_سلامة_وجودة_الغذاء #معاً_لغذاء_آمن #سلطنة_عُمان #Codex #CCNE #CAC49 #FoodSafety
