The #CADDIWA campaign was aircraft-based and used the #SAFIRE Falcon 20 to collect measurements above Cape Verde✈️. It was equipped with a radar-lidar system, radiometers, dropsondes, in situ dynamics, thermodynamics and aerosol/cloud microphysics probes. https://t.co/Nug4cGht4t

Quitterie Cazenave is a research #engineer at @latmos_ipsl. She joined the #CADDIWA campaign in #CapeVerde this September with the main task of processing the LNG #lidar instrument, but also to monitor the RASTA #radar instrument which she will tell us more about today.

Pierre Coutris is a @CNRS research engineer that joined the CADDIWA campaign in #CapeVerde as an instrument #scientist. He operated the Falcon Safire's microphysics probes during flights and today he'll explain to us how they work✈️

Yesterday evening, the #AVATART and #CADDIWA Falcons took off together from Sal Island, #CapeVerde🇨🇻 for an underflight of #Aeolus. The two jets measure aerosol, winds and meteorological conditions along the same track as Aeolus to validate the satellite's measurements✈️🛰️
