ไทยจัดตั้ง #ศูนย์เทคโนโลยีและวิจัยยานยนต์จีน (#CATARC) ในกรุงเทพฯ เพื่อก้าวสู่การเป็นศูนย์กลางระดับภูมิภาคด้านการพัฒนายานยนต์ไฟฟ้า (EV)

เมื่อวันพุธ (6 ธ.ค.) ณัฐพล รังสิตพล ปลัดกระทรวงอุตสาหกรรมของไทย กล่าวว่าการเปิดสำนักงานประจำภูมิภาคเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ของศูนย์ฯ ในไทย จะส่งเสริมความร่วมมือระหว่างไทยและจีนในการพัฒนานโยบาย กำหนดมาตรฐาน และให้การรับรองด้านยานยนต์ไฟฟ้า

ความร่วมมือนี้นับเป็นจุดเริ่มต้นของการผสานรวมความสามารถและเครือข่ายอุตสาหกรรมยานยนต์อันทันสมัยจากจีนเข้าด้วยกัน เพื่อพัฒนาอุตสาหกรรมท้องถิ่นและโครงสร้างพื้นฐานของไทย ซึ่งจะสนับสนุนความมุ่งมั่นเป็นฐานการผลิตแห่งสำคัญระดับโลก

ไทยมุ่งเสริมสร้างความสามารถทางการแข่งขันของประเทศและลดการปล่อยก๊าซเรือนกระจกผ่านการส่งเสริมยานยนต์ไฟฟ้า โดยปัจจุบันมีผู้ผลิตยานยนต์ 10 ราย เข้าร่วมแผนริเริ่มของรัฐบาลเพื่อสนับสนุนการใช้และผลิตยานยนต์ไฟฟ้า ทำให้เกิดการสั่งจองยานยนต์ไฟฟ้าพลังงานแบตเตอรี่มากกว่า 50,000 คัน

กระทรวงฯ ระบุว่าการปรับใช้ยานยนต์ไฟฟ้าของไทยในไตรมาสแรก (มกราคม-มีนาคม) ของปีนี้คิดเป็นร้อยละ 78 ของการใช้ยานยนต์ไฟฟ้าทั้งหมดในเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ และไทยผลิตยานยนต์ไฟฟ้าในปี 2022 ได้ราว 72,000 คัน ทำให้เป็นผู้ผลิตยานยนต์ไฟฟ้าอันดับหนึ่งของภูมิภาค

ทั้งนี้ ไทยตั้งเป้าหมายผลิตยานยนต์ที่ปล่อยมลพิษเป็นศูนย์ให้ได้อย่างน้อยร้อยละ 30 ภายในปี 2030 ด้วยกำลังการผลิตราว 725,000 คัน ภายใต้นโยบายของรัฐบาลไทย
