در نظامهایی که اندیشه جرم است، بازجویی نه برای کشف حقیقت، بلکه برای خاموش کردن آن است.
«صدها جلسه بازجویی و تفتیش عقاید همراه با انواع شکنجه اعم از ضرب و شتم، زندان انفرادی، محرومیت از ملاقات و تماس تلفنی با خانواده و وکیل، ارائه احکام جعلی اعدام به دلیل ارتداد»
صدها زندانی سیاسی، عقیدتی و امنیتی، هر روز در سایه سکوت، طعم تلخ شکنجه را میچشند، بی آنکه صدایشان شنیده شود.
سخنرانی محمدعلی طاهری با عنوان «برزخ مرگ»، نمایندهی است از این صداهای خاموششده، صدایی که در یکی از معتبرترین تریبونهای حقوق بشری جهان، فرصت یافته است تا حقیقتی سرکوبشده را بازگو کند.
