Looking at the #CICIndicators for #CICKenya and #CICSouthSudan it becomes clear that not all transitional spaces are the same. Understanding the unique context and needs of each space is essential to inclusive governance strategies

However in #SouthSudan, levels of trust in the actors negotiating to end the conflict there was very low, suggesting they don’t believe their views matter very much. #CICIndicators
#Kenya’s study suggested that #citizens in that country believe their sense of inclusion is important to confer legitimacy to a transitional arrangement. #CICIndicators
As international and national-level actors attempt to stem corruption, it would be worthwhile to understand how local communities see corruption in order to substantially address this issue. #CICIndicators
In #Kenya, citizens appear to want the government to create favorable circumstances for citizens to have access to opportunity in addition to a chance to take ownership. #CICIndicators
In Kenya, inclusion was heavily focused on potential economic opportunities. @MariaELausund Streetlights speak to the ability to continue with economic activities in safety (especially women) after dark. #CICIndicators
In South Sudan, security was predictably a top priority, and the study showed that citizens felt much safer if their home dwellings were electrified. #CICIndicators
#Inclusion means you understand what citizens need and you implement policies and programs to fulfill these needs. #CICIndicators
When #Kenyan respondents were asked to describe their priorities, they mentioned cheaper food prices, affordable education, and creating an enabling environment. #CICIndicators
The level of emphasis of these indicators for either country (#Kenya and #SouthSudan) was surprising. #CICIndicators

In Kenya, how citizens viewed the military often depended on how concerned they were with territorial/border integrity. If this was a big concern, then trust in the military was reduced. If not, then citizens tended to view the military with higher levels of trust. #CICIndicators
