In a world where podcast clowns can earn 10s of millions to run their mouths and cause harm, and politicians can wreck the world to line their own pockets, I do not feel bad trying to raise donations to fight the false narrative that Covid is mild, and to use my skills and experience to help those who need it. Here is the deal, after years of being highly vocal about Covid it has become very difficult for me to find employment. Fact, I apply and never hear back. So while being on the verge of bankruptcy, wrecking credit, and having to pull rabbits out of my hat for months filled with stress and sleepless nights, I keep pushing and trying to keep moving forward with my goals and plans to cause as much disruption to the "it'd mild" narrative as I can while helping as many people as I can. "Just apply for a job" has not worked out despite the ample experience I have, and credentials, so instead of balling up and disappearing I decided to keep pushing, keep fundraising, and keep trying to wake people up. "You made the choice, too bad", Yup I did, but I also feel like there was no choice to be made, because the course we are on is not the right one. It's called donations but it's really an investment in disruption, and assistance. Not everyone can do the work that needs to be done due to job restraints, fear of backlash, chronic illness, and other reasons, but the work needs to be done, and it can't wait, and with the plans I have I know we can make a difference. Complete assholes get millions of dollars to screw this world up, so I do not feel bad asking for money to do something good. I put in the time, I am available to those who need support or assistance, I cause a great deal of noise, and it goes beyond social media. If we had a huge budget we could fund 1000s of people to sound the alarm, but until then I have try what I can to stay at this. If half of my connections on here invested 5 bucks a year, I would have many more hours in the day to focus on the work, and less on finding another rabbit to pull out of my hat. Some days I think, it's all pointless, and we already lost the fight but then I remember how many people have already shown me so much awesome support, and I feel so damn proud, and seen, that not staying the course seems like an impossibility. I think we can make a difference, I think its worth it, and I would do it all again if I had to.
