Building Sustainable Futures for Women and Youth!
On 9th and 10th March 2026, @Mwarpkenya participated in a two-day Annual Workplan Planning Meeting organized by @PlanKenya under the #COSMEProject at PrideInn Paradise Beach Resort. The meeting brought together womenβs rights and youth-led organizations from #Kilifi and #Kwale Counties, alongside government and technical partners, to reflect on progress, celebrate achievements, address #challenges, and plan #activities for the final year of the project in 2026.
Held under the theme βSustainability,β the session also featured insights from partners including the Kenya Forest Association and Kenya Forestry Research Institute (KEFRI), who emphasized the importance of strong #partnerships and sustainable #community initiatives. The engagement created space for collaboration, alignment of priorities, and strategies to ensure lasting impact for #women, #girls, and #youth in Kilifi and Kwale Counties.

@Mwarpkenya , in partnership with @PlanKenya and @NawiriAfrica , convened an inspiring Peer-to-Peer Learning Session that brought together passionate conservation groups engaged in the Gender Justice Journey and #forest restoration initiatives.
The gathering created a vibrant and safe platform where community members openly exchanged #ideas, reflected on their #journeys, and strengthened their collective #impact.
The discussions went far beyond theory. Participants shared real #experiences from the field, the #wins, the #challenges, and the #lessons learned while championing forest #conservation and promoting #genderequality. Today, @Mwarpkenya , alongside @PlanKenya and @NawiriAfrica , held an inspiring Peer-to-Peer Learning Session in Chonyi under the #COSMEProject, and the energy was unmatched!
Bringing together conservation groups engaged in the Gender Justice Journey and forest restoration initiatives, the session created a vibrant platform for #communities to exchange #ideas, reflect on their #journeys, and strengthen their #impact in the community.
The discussions went beyond theory, they centered on real #experiences. Participants explored how #genderequality strengthens #environmental action, and how inclusive leadership ensures that both #women and #men have equal space to lead conservation efforts.

π Justice Meets Climate: The Takaungu Takeover!
Today, @Mwarpkenya , in partnership with @PlanKenya and @NawiriAfrica , successfully conducted an engaging Peer-to-Peer Learning Session at Mkwajuni Polytechnic under the #COSMEProject.
The session brought together vibrant #conservation groups participating in the Gender Justice Journey and mangrove conservation initiatives within Takaungu. It was a powerful space for participants to #connect, exchange #ideas, and #learn directly from each otherβs lived experiences in community #action and #environmental stewardship.
Through open dialogue, group reflections, and shared success stories, participants explored the strong link between #genderjustice and #environmentalconservation. Discussions highlighted how empowering young women and men to take leadership roles strengthens both social justice movements and #climate action efforts, especially in protecting our vital #mangrove ecosystems.
