I can't even manage live retweeting let alone live tweeting but, a day late, here is an excellent thread about an excellent session. #CSBVcon22
That’s a wrap! Thank you so much to everyone who contributed to and attended our conference. All very timely and relevant reflections. Links to recordings will be sent out in the next week or so. Time to have a cuppa and digest it all ☕️ #CSBVcon22

A conference on "Healing and Harm," discussing trauma and justice, is weighty at the best of times. These very real issues discussed at #CSBVcon22 have a special immediacy in light of the #UvaldeMassacre. While we condemn all violence, today #GunViolence is heavy on our hearts.
Thank you to the panelists who contributed so brilliantly to the roundtables on restorative justice, the criminal justice system, and the church at this year's @CSBibleViolence conference:

The Bible is the story of one trauma after another, but it's also the story of healing after healing. Hurt people hurt people but healed people heal people. We all experience trauma in some way. Our churches need to be trauma informed and trauma trained. @EJUSA #CSBVcon22
Punishment not for the sake of punishment, but punishment to serve the end, not imposed out of vengeance but out of love. Punishment is an integral part of justice. Shares @martensmatt1 #CSBVcon22
Still mulling over the richness of what @LJMClaassens shared with us surrounding the split self and lamentations at #CSBVcon22 Turns out disgrace was the last book my husband read so we had a great discussion about patriarchy and reclaiming the voice of the victim over a cuppa☕️
