High Representative Christian Schmidt participated in the European People’s Party (EPP) Congress held in Valencia, where he engaged in intensive discussions on the Euro-Atlantic integration of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Western Balkan region. In his exchanges with heads of government, foreign ministers, EU Commissioners, and other high-level interlocutors, he emphasized that the rule of law—along with the legal and constitutional framework of Bosnia and Herzegovina—is a fundamental principle that is not subject to negotiation but only to further strengthening. The High Representative remarked: “The Valencia Congress was a successful event for the Western Balkans, and above all, for Bosnia and Herzegovina.”
