First time back out on the battlefields with @Trowelboy123 since our time as #CWGFInterns.
We visited familiar sites on the Somme, broke new ground at Ypres and even found some time to see a few old @CWGC colleagues - truly amazing to be back!

February 2020: We were pleased to welcome over prospective #CWGFinterns to our open day in Maidenhead β which led to 36 being selected for the 2020 programme. Sadly just over a week into their time with us they returned home due to Covid-19. #12MonthsofCWGC #OurWorkContinues

Last year, myself and my colleagues were lucky enough to lay a wreath at Thiepval as #CWGFInterns and spend Armistice day seeing some incredible tributes from people.
This was a father and son who played before the 72000+ on the walls.

When looking through the photos from my brief time with the #CWGFInterns last spring, this one stands out. The shadows of my friends remind me that every headstone marks a real person with hopes and loves and aspirations, whose life was cut tragically short. #WeWillRememberThem

Really great to catch up tonight with some of the former CWGC and CWGF Interns who are part of the alumni group we launched earlier this year. #CWGCinterns #CWGFinterns

1st August 2019 - Up to Belgium for training, visiting the Memorial Museum Passchendaele 1917 which was incredibly interesting and informative.
I'd never been to Buttes New British Cemetery or Polygon Wood before, but I had been to Lijssenthoek. #CWGC #CWGFInterns #WWI #Belgium

29th July 2019 - I woke up for the 2nd week of #CWGFInterns training on my birthday! I woke up to find balloons outside my door, and got a lovely card and bottle from everyone. I bought myself a tart instead of cake, and spent the evening with my CWGC and Canadian friends!

22nd July 2019 - Me and the rest of the second wave #CWGFInterns moved to Arras to start our training. These were the first pictures I took over there, and I can still feel how warm it was that first night we sat there together.

103 years and 3 days ago the Battle of Arras began. Due to the Coronavirus, the ceremony for the commemoration of the battle took place virtually. I wasnβt able to do the reading I was supposed to do so I thought Iβd share it
