Let’s not beat around the bush. AfriForum is a pro-apartheid, white supremacist, and racist organisation. It established and funded #CapeForum with the deliberate intention of expanding its racist and exclusivist agenda by exploiting the genuine challenges faced by the Coloured community in the Western Cape, along with those of all Black South Africans. Instead of advancing unity among the Black oppressed, AfriForum and its proxies maliciously promote division and apartheid-style separatism. They also support the reactionary and blatantly racist Cape Exit movement, which seeks to separate the Western Cape from the rest of South Africa. Their Afrikaans slogan says it all: “Plaas die Kaap se toekoms in Kaapse hande” (“Place the Cape’s future in Cape hands”). See the Cape Forum note pads that were distributed at the meeting. These are the racist elements with which the Cape Bridge Movement and Cape Flats Stories made common cause by hosting and supporting their event, “Beyond the Ballot: Civic and Mayoral Dialogue,” yesterday at the University of the Western Cape. It is a well established fact that the @Our_DA also makes common cause with them. The organisers were blatantly dishonest about AfriForum’s involvement. When the EFF called them out for this manipulative dishonesty, they tried to argue—even more dishonestly—that there is a difference between AfriForum and Cape Forum. There is none whatsoever! Cape Forum is the creation and child of AfriForum. Once AfriForum’s involvement was exposed, with Cape Forum used as its Trojan horse, #AishaCassim, the Provincial Treasurer of the EFF in the Western Cape, who had been deployed in good faith to participate in the debate, made a strong statement of anger and outrage about the deliberate misrepresentation of the event. She refused to participate and led a walkout of all EFF members, joined by several other political parties who were equally shocked and angered at having been deliberately misled. Instead of acknowledging that they had been caught out in their lies and offering an unconditional apology, Tarryn Lee, founder of The Bridge SA Movement, this morning issued a pathetically arrogant statement claiming that “they will not be intimidated by the EFF.” The EFF did not intimidate anyone. We simply exposed the blatant lies of those who underhandedly make common cause with racist separatists, in the interest of honesty and transparency. The Bridge SA Movement’s arrogant and unrepentant response today proves that the EFF was absolutely correct to expose them and to withdraw from the meeting. We express our appreciation to the other political parties who, once they became aware of the true facts, also walked out and withdrew. The EFF leads in exposing lies and the pursuit of truth. #VoteEFF2026LGE

As much as Kyknet "Klop" presenter Heindrich Wyngaard denies links to #Afriforum, he has their backing for his #CapeForum org. I for one would not want to be represented by them. #PowerOfAssociation. https://t.co/zxr2kfKidZ.

Dit is 'n voorreg om vandag teenwoordig te wees by die bekendstelling van die #KaapseForum in die Bo-Kaap. Geskiedenis word gemaak. Plaas die Kaap se toekoms in Kaapse hande. @heintweets #CapeForum
