Congratulations to the new #RCNPresident #RCNDeputyPresident and new #RCNCouncil and all those who put themselves forward for these roles.
The #CarrReview was published 2 yrs ago. It was a damning review with racism, misogyny, bullying, distrust, dysfunction as themes.
I am so excited to see a more diverse Council and have so much hope about the future of the College.
The next focus for @theRCN I hope will be engagement of members who feel marginalised. A 4.4% voting turnout is such a disappointment.
We must make it a priority to find out why most members don't feel a need to vote.

This time two years ago, #CarrReview had just been released about the toxic culture of @theRCN
These three nurse leaders supported the emergency resolution that led to a vote of no confidence in the previous RCN Council.

@LolaOni3 was one of the 2 formidable nurse leaders who supported me at the last EGM to put the resolution forward after the #CarrReview
You - @alisonleary1, @SheilaSobranylaSobrany and many other nurse leaders (too many to tag) were huge sources of support.
We cannot afford to go back to how toxic the College was pre the Carr Review.
We cannot keep wasting money on expensive reviews! Nursing and nurses must be at the heart of everything the College does!

As RCN President Iβm trying to improve things & the experience of our @theRCN members. My experience prior was not in anyway dissimilar to our members they deserve so much better I am fighting for that improvement even though I am not immune & experience it even now at this level
As I start the rest of the week, I continue to be supported by courageous people. I remember those who walked before me. Maya said it all: Without courage, one can't practise any other virtue consistently.

1/5. Briefly on the #RCN EGM 2022 in response to the #CarrReview into the organisationβs culture, and associated Vote of No Confidence in [some of] #RCN Council members. The vote has been passed with 93.01% of members who voted in favour of the VONC.

The review was a hard read. It is my hope that #RCNCouncil listens to members. We had been reminded by them that the College is member-led.
